Staffing agencies, and where we differ.
An honest comparison of the staffing model against permanent recruitment, so you can pick the right one per role.
A staffing agency supplies workers it employs itself and bills the client an hourly rate for the assignment. Mindpool USA does not operate that model: we place permanent, full-time employees directly onto the client's payroll for a one-time fee, with a 90-day retention guarantee.
How the staffing model works
The agency employs the worker, handles payroll and compliance, and charges the client a blended hourly rate that includes its margin. The client gains speed and flexibility but does not gain an employee, and the margin continues for as long as the assignment does.
Where staffing costs more than it saves
For work with a defined end date and transferable output, staffing is reasonable. For architecture, silicon, grid systems, or anything where context compounds, the hourly margin keeps running while the institutional knowledge stays rented. Past roughly the first quarter, a permanent hire is usually the cheaper and lower-risk choice.
- Hourly margin accrues indefinitely; a placement fee does not
- Knowledge leaves with the assignment
- Conversion fees apply if you later want to employ the person
- Equity, benefits, and progression cannot be offered to an agency worker
What Mindpool USA does instead
We run permanent searches: brief intake, market mapping, targeted and specialised sourcing, sector-specialist screening, references, and offer close — ending with an employee on your payroll and a 90-day replacement guarantee behind them.
Frequently asked
Does Mindpool USA operate as a staffing agency?
Not in the temporary sense. We are a permanent staffing and recruitment firm — every placement is a full-time employee of the client company.
When is a staffing agency the better choice?
When the work has a firm end date, is separable from long-term architecture, and speed matters more than retained knowledge. For ongoing, roadmap-critical engineering, permanent hiring is usually better value.
What is the difference between staffing and recruitment?
Staffing supplies agency-employed workers on an hourly basis. Recruitment places employees directly with the employer for a one-time fee.
